FC Bayern showed great resilience in Cologne.
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany credited FC Köln for its effort and its fight, but was also happy with how his team responded in a 3-1 away victory at Cologne.
“Köln were full of energy, uncomfortable from start to finish. I’m very pleased with my team’s performance. We created chances from different situations to what we’re used to. It’s very important to me that we can also be a threat out of defense. It’s an inner conflict with my mentality that we’re celebrating a record in the middle of the season,” Kompany said (as captured FCBayern.com).
The Bavarians were able to perform with a few key changes in the lineup and will likely not dwell too much on the new record they achieved. For Kompany, that will be just fine as the head coach will undoubtedly shift his focus directly to the RB Leipzig match this weekend in the Bundesliga.
