Braves News: Cam Caminiti, Vidal Brujan, more

Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday

Well the options appear to be dwindling for the Braves to grab a starting pitcher, as Ranger Suarez signed a big 5 year $130 million deal with Boston. That said, the buzz has been more on Framber Valdez as a free agent or someone like Freddy Peralta on the trade market for Atlanta lately, so perhaps their move is still on the table. They could plausibly go into the season with their current rotation options, particularly if the answers to their injury questions are favorable, but a quality starter really would be a phenomenal touch to an already strong offseason.

Braves’ top prospect Cam Caminiti was ranked in the top 10 of MLB Pipeline’s and Baseball America’s lefty starter prospects.

The Twins claimed utility infielder Vidal Brujan from the Braves off waivers.

The Braves announced that pitchers and catchers will first workout on February 10th, meaning they will presumably report February 9th.

Mark Bowman praised the front office’s work to improve the bullpen.

The Red Sox signed Ranger Suarez to a 5 year $130 million deal, a big deal for the former Phillies starter.

The Mets and Blue Jays have reportedly made substantial offers to Kyle Tucker and may be the two favorites for his services.
