Candace Parker gets brutally honest.
"Thank You for Ending That": Aliyah Boston Left Speechless by Candace Parker's Retirement Confession originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston and WNBA legend Candace Parker recently announced an exciting partnership, as they decided to team up to launch the “Post Moves” podcast. The first episode of the highly anticipated show doesn’t drop until July 30, but the podcast has already been teasing fans with juicy tidbits.
One of these involves Parker’s honest confession about her decision to retire in 2023. The two-time WNBA MVP told her new podcast co-host point-blank that she was one of the reasons why Parker knew it was time to hang it up.
“Her first year was my last year, and I remember she’s part of the reason why I decided it was time for me to retire,” Parker said. “Because you came down the lane, and coach was like, ‘You got to get around.’ And (after) three quarters, I was like, ‘I can’t.’ It’s my time. … Thank you for ending that.”

In the clip, Boston can be seen at a loss for words as Parker made her confession. The Fever All-Star had to take some time to fully understand the statement before she was able to respond.
“They did tell me to deep seal,” Boston said.
Parker is, without a doubt, one of the greatest players to ever do it, and it’s refreshing to see her honesty here about accepting her fate. At that point in her career, the three-time WNBA champ was already in her 16th season in the league, and she literally has Boston to thank for helping her realize that it was going to be her last.
