Inter Milan midfielder Andy Diouf seems to be unfazed by his disappointing start to life at Stadio San Siro.

Speaking to Inter’s Matchday Programme via FCInterNews, the Frenchman confirmed that he feels happy in Serie A.

Andy Diouf left Lens to join the Nerazzurri in August for a reported fee of €25 million.

Indeed, Inter had to turn to the 22-year-old after failing to sign Roma’s Manu Kone and Atalanta’s Ederson.

However, Diouf has failed to find his footing at Giuseppe Meazza, finding himself on the fringes of the squad.

For further perspective, head coach Cristian Chivu has handed the former Lens star only 71 minutes in Serie A.

Moreover, Diouf is still waiting for his first league start this season despite showing some promise in his recent outings.

Despite his underwhelming start, he looks willing to stay and fight for a place in the starting lineup.

Asked what the turning point in his career was, Diouf replied: “There have been several.

“For example, making my professional debut, but also my arrival at Inter this summer. I’m very proud to wear this jersey.

“I remember the first time I stepped onto the pitch at San Siro, I felt immense pride, thinking about giving everything and enjoying that moment.

“There are so many very strong players here. Inter is a legendary club.”

Then, he discussed his style of play.

“It’s something my father and brothers passed on to me,” Diouf added. “Since I was a child, I’ve always enjoyed covering a lot of ground on the pitch, attacking and defending.

“As a midfielder, I can do all of that while also having a full view of the game. I really enjoy that.”

Diouf also described himself in five words.

“Calm, positive, hard-working, humble, and passionate,” he stated.

Finally, he revealed what he would ‘borrow’ from his teammates.

“There are so many, for example, the quality of the attackers.”
