Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck believes that team-mate Serhou Guirassy has put an end to his creative crisis with his goal in the 3-0 win against Werder Bremen on Tuesday.
"Now he's finally scored. I think he's broken the deadlock," Schlotterbeck told broadcasters DAZN.
"We'll now see the striker we know. You can also tell that a weight has been lifted off his shoulders," he added.
Guirassy scored his first Bundesliga goal in more than two months as he came off the bench to hit the final goal of the game.
Even goalkeeper Gregor Kobel rushed forward to join in the celebrations.
"When a lot of people are targeting you, it's not easy. He hasn't played badly recently. We expect a lot, it's not easy being a striker," Schlotterbeck said.
Coach Niko Kovac added: "It's important that he scored – not just for him personally, but also for the team."
Dortmund are second in the table, eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who visit Cologne later on Wednesday.
