Alexander Carrier came to the rescue on Monday night versus the Vancouver Canucks. Not only did he tie the game in the second period with a great shot, he went on to register the first two-goal effort of his career, which turned the tide for the home team. Juraj Slafkovsky also had a night to remember, to the tune of one goal and two assists in the 6-3 win. [Canadiens Highlights: Carrier And Slafkovsky Power Exciting Win]

Carrier had a cool moment with house announcer Michel Lacroix following the entertaining win.

Lost in all the excitement, rookie Ivan Demidov enjoyed yet another great outing. In fact, it was one of the best efforts of the season from the second line. It was also one of the most difficult games of the year for Arber Xhekaj, who has otherwise put together a very solid season.

Bryce Pickford is in the midst of one of the most impressive WHL campaigns in recent memory. He has 32 goals and 28 assists in 38 games, which means he’s third overall in scoring, and leads all WHL players in goals. As a reminder, Pickford, drafted 81st overall in 2025, is a defenceman.

The New Jersey Devils were not supposed to win on Monday. They’ve hit rock bottom of late, dropping their last four tilts before Monday night amid some off-ice controversy. Add the fact that the wound of missing out on Quinn Hughes is still fresh, and the Minnesota Wild are now thriving with him, and this game had five straight losses written all over it. The Senators officially signed James Reimer to a one-year contract today. The contract carries an AAV of $850,000. The Senators will be Reimer’s eighth NHL team, with the veteran most recently spending most of last season with the Buffalo Sabres. [Ottawa Senators]

It doesn’t take an NHL GM to figure out that the San Jose Sharks need to improve their defence to get to the next level. That’s no disrespect, truly, to their current blueliners, who have done admirable work to help the Sharks to a surprising 23-19-3. [San Jose Sharks]
