Leicestershire have appointed all-rounder Ben Green as their new captain for this summer's T20 Blast.
The 28-year-old has joined the club on a permanent basis following red-ball loan spells from Somerset in the past two seasons, and helped them win promotion in the County Championship.
"While he is yet to represent the Foxes in white-ball cricket, his leadership qualities and extensive experience in the shortest formats made him the standout candidate for the role," said a statement.
Green has taken 105 wickets in 90 T20 matches, including five in an innings on two occasions, and also has a century in 50-over cricket.
"Ben is someone who naturally commands respect. He's calm, thoughtful and competitive, and those are qualities you want in a T20 captain," said head coach Alfonso Thomas.
"There is also no denying that the experience he has in this competition is only going to help us."
Leicestershire have won the domestic T20 competition on three occasions - one of only three teams to do so - but have not reached the knockout stage in the past five years.
Louis Kimber, their 2025 captain, has left the club to join Northamptonshire.
