AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF)- Border Bowl XIII is just a couple of days away, and both rosters have seen some additions this week. For the coaching staff, they’re preaching an important message on playing together.

“I knew we threw a lot at you yesterday; we’re going to build a lot on that today. Process it, don’t forget what wins football, blocking, tackling, and getting after someone. “Okay, nice and tall, held high, give me SC on two, one two SC,” said head coach Matt Hayes in a practice huddle.

Coach Hayes has his strategy for approaching this week for team South Carolina. What about team Georgia’s strategy? Well, head coach Sean Tiernan preaches the same couple factors that has allowed the squad to win these last few border bowls.

“Bring a physicality to the game like we did the past few years. That’s the overall goal to get physicality but execution is big because you only have four days of practice, so we’re keeping it simple for the kids that we can play fast and enjoy themselves,” Tiernan said.

“They’ve been away from the game in a few weeks, just trying to make sure that they’re comfortable in the game.”
