FC Bayern sent Daniel Peretz back out on loan.
After some consternation, Bayern Munich goalkeeper has officially returned to the club from Hamburger SV and also been shipped right back out the door on another loan assignment to Southampton per a release from the club website:
FC Bayern are sending Daniel Peretz out on loan to Southampton until the end of the season. The 25-year-old Israeli goalkeeper spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Hamburger SV. Now he will gain further experience in England.
Peretz joined Bayern from Maccabi Tel Aviv in summer 2023 and has played seven times in goal for FCB so far, winning the Bundesliga with the club last year. During his time in Munich, he’s established himself in the Israeli national team, for whom he’s made 10 appearances.
Peretz did not get the playing time he desired at Hamburger SV, so another move was necessary and Southampton was a willing partner.
Southampton also announced the loan via their website.
“I’m really happy to make this move to Southampton, it’s a great club in a good league and I’m really looking forward to getting started. I want to help the team to get back in the Premier League. Although it’s a tough goal, I think it’s realistic. There are a lot of games to go,” said Peretz.
Southampton technical director Johannes Spors was happy to bring in Peretz.
“Daniel arrives with proven ability both domestically and internationally,” Spors said. “He has played at the highest level and we’re delighted to welcome him here where he adds further quality and depth to our goalkeeping department.”
