The Lakers win third straight in 111-103 road win over Pelicans behind Luka Magic and Kings James
NEW ORLEANS — Luka Dončić is a force to be reckoned with and LeBron James continues to beat Father Time.
The Los Angeles Lakers won their third straight behind a masterful 30-point showing from both Dončić and James, taking down the New Orleans Pelicans 111-103 on the road on Tuesday evening
It was a complete back-and-forth affair at the Smoothie King Center with 14 lead changes on the night until the Pelicans gained some momentum late in the third with an 86-79 lead going into the fourth.
Then Luka Magic and King James happened, putting together a perfect final quarter run to close out a New Orleans team that has been at the bottom of the West all season.
The Lakers went on to outscore the Pelicans 32-17 behind the two.
In the final quarter, with under three minutes left and the score within four, James and Dončić went to work. The two went to a two-man action as LeBron sliced his way for a couple of lay-ins and Dončić made a ridiculous off-balance 3 as the shot clock wound down, sucking the life and the Pelicans' chances of getting within reach.
“He's been absolutely amazing. Just helping me out, helping others out, being super efficient. I think we're both playing better with each other, game by game. And this is just going to be improving more," Dončić said on his chemistry with James.
Dončić had 10 assists to go with his outing, and James had eight rebounds and eight assists in his 33 minutes of action, still doing it at the age of 41, showing why he's in a world of his own against Father Time and longevity.

The Lakers' road win improved them to 13-0 in clutch games and 23-11 on the season with the third-best record (fourth-best in the NBA) in the West behind the San Antonio Spurs (25-11), whom they face next on Wednesday for the second night of a back-to-back.
