Former Real Madrid and PSG centre-back Sergio Ramos (39) has rejected the opportunity to make his return in the French capital and join Paris FC, according to Foot Mercato. Ramos is currently a free agent following the conclusion of the Mexican championship. The 2010 World Cup winner with Spain signed a one-year deal with Monterrey last year.
Ramos is reportedly considering a return in Europe, and he would be open to join a Ligue 1 club. Ramos notably featured for PSG for two seasons – between 2021 and 2023 – after his Real Madrid contract expired. OGC Nice were rumoured as interested in bringing Ramos back in the French top tier, but club president Jean-Pierre Rivère strongly denied those links.
Foot Mercato now reports that Paris FC have name-cheked Ramos as the Arnault-owned promoted Ligue 1 side is expected to bring in experience to bolster its squad. PFC are only 14th in Ligue 1. Les Parisiens consider Ramos as a natural leader capable of bringing a spotlight to the club and further strengthening the leaky PFC defense, but Ramos has reportedly rejected the move as he seeks a club with a greater visibility.
