Real Madrid have been linked with yet another high-profile name this winter, but any speculation surrounding Mohamed Salah appears to be short-lived.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Salah’s representatives recently offered the Liverpool forward to Real Madrid, sparking internal discussions at Valdebebas.

The proposal, however, has been met with little enthusiasm.

This is because while Salah’s quality is beyond doubt, the financial demands involved have quickly cooled Madrid’s interest.

A potential loan move from January to June would reportedly cost around €12 million, a figure the club considers excessive for a short-term solution.

Uncertainty at Liverpool

Salah’s situation at Liverpool has been closely followed in recent weeks.

The Egyptian forward experienced a tense period under Arne Slot, including being left out of the squad.

Although relations have since improved and Salah has returned to regular action, uncertainty around his role has opened the door to transfer speculation.

Real Madrid’s interest was briefly revisited after news emerged of Kylian Mbappe’s injury.

Salah was internally viewed as a possible alternative to cover the attacking void, and his agents have actively offered him to several top European clubs.

Roma were among the latest sides to show interest, alongside Madrid.

Despite being under contract until 2027, Liverpool are understood to be exploring exit scenarios for Salah.

A permanent sale in January is seen as complicated, but a loan move has been discussed as a more realistic option.

According to reports, the proposed €12 million gross loan fee would amount to roughly €6 million net.

From Madrid’s perspective, that price does not align with their January strategy, as they believe the cost is unjustifiable for a six-month spell and have thus ruled out the operation.
