The Dolphins sign a young player from Washington
The Washington Commanders had one of their UDFA rookies on their practice squad poached today. RB Donovan Edwards has signed to the Miami Dolphins 53-man roster. Edwards played four seasons at Michigan before signing with the New York Jets after last year’s draft. He didn’t make their initial 53-man roster, and Washington added him to their practice squad before the season started.
Donovan Edwards didn’t get elevate during any games this season, and he was the only RB on the practice squad before signing with Miami. The Commanders signed veteran RB Chase Edmonds to the practice squad a few weeks later, and chose to sign him to the 53-man roster over Edwards. Edmonds played for Kliff Kingsbury in Arizona, and also has kick return experience which is where he was used when active.
