Tottenham confirm that Kota Takai has joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan for the remainder of the season.
The Japanese international joined Spurs in the summer from Kawasaki Frontale, but is yet to make a senior appearance for Spurs because of a foot injury that has kept him out since he joined.
He was in the squad for the first time for their match against Crystal Palace, however he remained on the bench throughout the match.
Takai was expected to be part of Thomas Frank’s first team plans but his injury has meant that he has been unable to make his debut for the side.
The defender is expected to train with his new side out in Germany on Friday afternoon now that he has made the move to the club.
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s next game is on January 11 against Augsburg in which Takai could make his debut.
