Georgia WR sets program record in Sugar Bowl loss

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Zachariah Branch became one of UGA's all-time single season leaders for receptions

The Georgia Bulldogs lost in the Sugar Bowl to the Ole Miss Rebels, but Georgia receiver Zachariah Branch made school history during the game. Branch became Georgia's all-time single season leader in receptions with 81.

Branch, a USC Trojans transfer, passed Brice Hunter's 76-reception season during the Sugar Bowl. Branch finished the 2025 season with 81 receptions for 811 yards and six touchdowns. Georgia really relied on Branch to produce yardage after the catch in the screen game. He also excelled at getting open down the field.

Branch's 2025 season will go down in Georgia history, but his receptions record is still very breakable for Bulldogs in the future. Branch played in all 14 Georgia games during the 2025 season, but a future Georgia team could play in 16 games if UGA advanced to the national championship and won the SEC.
