Ole Miss wins Allstate Sugar Bowl, tops Georgia 39-34 in thriller

Ole Miss and Georgia delivered the best game of the playoffs, with the Rebels winning 39-34.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Ole Miss and Georgia delivered the best game of the playoffs. The instant classic and shootout ended with the Rebels getting it done 39-34 and advancing to the college football playoff semifinals. Kicker Lucas Carneiro hit field goals from 56 yards, 55 yards and the game-winner from 47 yards out.

Ole Miss and LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. called an impressive game on one of college football’s biggest stages. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was 30/46 for 362 yards and two touchdowns. At one point he completed 13 consecutive passes which is a Sugar Bowl record.

The Rebels finished with 473 total yards. Harrison Wallace III had nine catches for 156 yards and a touchdown. Kewan Lacy rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns.

No. 6 Ole Miss will play No. 10 Miami in the Fiesta Bowl on January 8th. That winner will advance to the national championship.
