West Ham United are pursuing a move for Fulham winger Adama Traore in the winter transfer window.

The Cottagers are open to letting the 29-year-old leave but they still face a major stumbling block.

According to The Telegraph, Traore’s wage demands are currently preventing a deal from happening. But it has been suggested that they may be lowered.

West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo wants a reunion with the experienced forward, who he previously managed at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Traore impressed during his spell at Wolves, bagging 14 goals and 20 assists in 194 senior appearances.

He made the switch to Fulham in 2023 and has been an important squad player for them.

In 75 matches across all competitions, the Spaniard has recorded four goals and 13 assists.

Traore is not a reliable goalscorer as he is not very clinical in front of goal.

But he is known for his physicality, pace, dribbling skills and ability to put a cross in.

Traore’s current contract at Fulham will expire at the end of this season.

West Ham are desperate to sign players this month as they face a tough battle to stay in the Premier League.

Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion leaves them four points away from 17th-place Nottingham Forest

The Hammers are also in the market for a striker, with Niclas Fullkrug set to join AC Milan on loan.

They are reportedly in talks to sign Gil Vicente’s Pablo, who has ten goals and one assists in 13 Primeira Liga games so far this season.
