His Airness. The Black Mamba. The King. The Bambino.

High-end sports card sales were dominated in 2025 by a handful of all-time greats, especially on the basketball court.

Of the top 10 transactions, more than half involved either Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.

And, of course, a trio of current Los Angeles stars — LeBron James, Shohei Ohtani and Luka Dončić — also made appearances on the list.

Here are the top 10 sports card sales of the year, according to Card Ladder’s records, starting with one for the all-time record books.

1. 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Kobe Bryant-Michael Jordan Dual Logoman Autograph 1/1 PSA 6: $12.932 million

The most expensive sports card ever sold at public auction broke the bank earlier this year when a Dual Logoman featuring patches from Jordan and Bryant fetched nearly $13 million.

On its own, the card paired one of the hobby’s most iconic sets with game-used Logoman patches from two of basketball’s all-time greatest players.

The card’s story got even more interesting when Shark Tank star and celebrity entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary revealed he was one of the buyers.

The record-setter is now part of the WonderShyne Index, a collection of ultra high-end cards acquired by collectibles platform Secure.

2. 2006-07 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Michael Jordan-LeBron James Dual Logoman Autograph 1/1: $10 million

Similar to the Jordan-Bryant Dual Logoman, this card was acquired by Secure in September through a private sale. Card Ladder confirmed the transaction through a review of the wire transfer.

This sale is the third-highest for any card, according to Card Ladder, and the most paid for a card featuring James.

Purchased raw, the card has since been graded a PSA 5/Auto 9.

3. 2018-19 Panini Flawless Luka Dončić Logoman Autograph 1/1: $4.7 million

Another acquisition by Secure, this example is arguably the most important Dončić card in existence.

Sold privately, the result edged out the previous record for a Dončić card of $4.6 million paid in 2021. According to Secure, the card has since been graded a PSA 7/Auto 10.

4. 2003-04 Exquisite Collection LeBron James Rookie Patch Autograph Gold /23 PSA 9/Auto 10: $4.25 million

Among the best James cards in existence, this example was sold to a Secure client in a private transaction.

Card Ladder confirmed the transaction through a review of the wire transfer and invoices.

5. 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth SGC 3: $4.028 million

Just 10 copies of the 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth card have ever been graded.
Just 10 copies of the 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth card have ever been graded.

Despite selling for one of the highest results in sports card history, this 1914 Baltimore News example stunned collectors for the wrong reason in 2025.

Considered arguably Babe Ruth’s most important card, this example fetched a little more than $4 million at Heritage in October — after once selling for $7.2 million at REA in 2023.

The roughly $3.2 million loss is believed to be the most in sports card history.

6. 2003 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant Dual Logoman 1/1 PSA 6: $3.172 million

At the high end, 2025 became the year of the Logoman.

The Logoman isn’t new by any means, but the patch has become increasingly popular, with game-used examples of top players regularly commanding record-setting prices.

This card, again featuring Jordan and Bryant, caught similar interest to the year’s most expensive card to deliver the highest result for a non-autographed basketball card.

Created using gold logos worn by the previous season’s award-winners, the biggest example to date fetched $3 million at Fanatics Collect after being worn by hobby darling Shohei Ohtani.

This isn’t a rookie card, but the patch’s connection to a specific season delivered the highest sale ever for an Ohtani card at public auction.

8. 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan Autograph PSA 9/Auto 10: $2.7 million

Autographed as part of a secret signing observed by PSA, this example sold for $2.7 million in a private deal brokered by Goldin in October.

The result is the highest ever for an aftermarket signature and also the most paid for a Jordan rookie of any kind.

9. 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Kobe Bryant Limited Logos Autograph: $2.4 million

Another major purchase made by Secure, this Bryant game-used autograph card features a piece of the Larry O’Brien Trophy from his jersey as well as an inscription reading “07-08 MVP.”

The private sale was confirmed by a Card Ladder review of the wire transfer and invoices.

10. 2015-16 Panini Flawless Kobe Bryant Logoman Autograph 1/1: $2.3 million

The final card on this list — and fifth involving the Secure platform — features one of just three Kobe Bryant Flawless Logoman patches created to date and was the only one to be released during Bryant’s career.

Originally purchased raw, the card has since been graded a PSA 5.
