Arsenal secured another three points to remain top of the Premier League table with a win over Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend, so it’s no surprise a few of their players were selected for the various Teams of the Week.
Alan Shearer included both David Raya and Martin Odegaard in his Team of the Week on behalf of the Premier League website.
Shearer praised Raya for a “contender for Save of the Season to deny Yankuba Minteh”, and added that Odegaard “looked back to his very best” as he “led by example”.

Troy Deeney didn’t select Raya and Odegaard for his BBC Team of the Week, but he did still find a spot for an Arsenal player in Declan Rice.
Rice was used out of position at right-back for the Brighton game, but he put in a good display all the same.
Deeney wrote that despite the position change, Rice “was still massively influential, marauding forward and defensively he was solid”. He added that the midfielder “never had anyone at Brighton get at him” and “just handled every situation well”.

The schedule is so packed at the moment that there’s barely time for the Premier League and the BBC to put out one Team of the Week because the next round of fixtures gets underway. Arsenal will be back in action against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
