One Los Angeles Rams position group piqued the interest of a former division rival head coach. To the point he couldn't help but rave about the unit ahead of the 2025 season.
Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary spoke glowingly about the Rams defensive line. He gave his praise during his appearance on "Up and Adams" with Kay Adams Monday.
Singletary says his gut picks the 49ers as the one coming out of the NFC West as champs. But he looked at reality -- believing the Rams have the stronger roster. Especially sharing what he loves about the Rams' trenches.
"I think they have a defensive line that's very disruptive," Singletary began. "They come off the ball, they get after the quarterback and when you do that, you cause the defense to really rise to another level. Especially when you look at the quarterbacks in the division."
The Rams face a fierce gauntlet of QBs annually twice a year in their division. They already deal with dual-threat Kyler Murray and NFC champion winning QB Brock Purdy. Now they get Sam Darnold twice a year following his breakout Pro Bowl year. Except the Rams ended his Vikings run early during the wild card run by sacking him an astonishing nine times.
The front line welcomes back Kobie Turner for a third season. Turner has delivered a combined 17 sacks across his first two years in the league. Though he hit new career-best marks in tackles for a loss (10), total tackles (62) and solo stops (35).
Meanwhile, Braden Fiske is expected to be fully healthy for 2025 following his knee ailment. Fiske led L.A. with 8.5 sacks playing in the role bequeathed by Aaron Donald. This unit additionally features Byron Young and last season's top defensive rookie Jared Verse attacking the edges.
