The Cherries are set to lose Antoine Semenyo in the winter transfer window due the forward’s £65 million release clause in his contract.

Bournemouth are seemingly preparing for Semenyo’s exit, as they eye a January move for Spurs’ winger Johnson.

The 24-year-old was Tottenham’s top Premier League goalscorer last season, netting 11 goals in 33 league games.

He also scored the winning goal in their Europa League final victory against Manchester United in May that ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought.

However, his fortunes have massively declined since Thomas Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou as new head coach.

Under the Danish boss, the Wales international has been reduced to a peripheral role this season, starting just six Premier League matches.

Frank insisted that Johnson remains an important player for Tottenham following Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Palace.

But he may push for a move this winter amid the prospect of a World Cup on the horizon with Wales.

Johnson is still young and can play across the frontline. He is highly rated for his explosive pace, dribbling skills and intelligence.

Bournemouth would love to bring the winger to the Vitality Stadium in January, but they face competition from Palace.

Andoni Iraola’s side may have to pay a premium fee for Johnson, who still has three years left on his current contract with Spurs.
