Toyota WRC team boss buys top WRC2 squad

WRC2 title-winning squad Printsport Racing is now owned by the 18-time WRC rally winner Jari-Matti Latvala

Toyota World Rally Championship team principal Jari-Matti Latvala has purchased the WRC2 title-winning Printsport Racing outfit.

JML-WRT Oy, a company created by the 18-time WRC rally winner, has acquired the Finnish rally team that has recently guided Sami Pajari and Oliver Solberg to WRC2 titles in 2024 and 2025 respectively. Both drivers have since graduated to Toyota’s Rally1 WRC team.

“For me, Printsport Oy was a natural choice to acquire. Printsport has proven its expertise and the professional, passionate approach of the company’s personnel combined with a strong competitive spirit is something I have always admired,” said Latvala.

Printsport Racing, which runs and services rally cars, had already been closely aligned with the Toyota WRC squad. It has been fielding GR Yaris Rally2 Cars in WRC2 as part of its services, since the car made its debut in 2024.

Printsport Racing today confirmed the deal was agreed with JML-WRT Oy before Christmas. with the announcement also confirming that the team’s founder Eero Raikkonen will continue as the team’s CEO moving forward.

“By an agreement dated 23 December, 2025, JML-WRT Oy acquired the entire share capital of Printsport Oy from Eero Raikkonen," read a statement from Printsport Racing.

“The transaction gives Printsport Oy a broader ownership base and strengthens the company’s capacity to respond to future challenges.

“The 2026 season is set to be extremely busy and exciting, as the team will contest all 14 WRC events with the goal of achieving a third consecutive WRC2 World Championship title for their driver.

“Eero Raikkonen thanks the employees, partners, competitors, supporters and his family for all the memorable moments and for their wholehearted commitment through both wins and losses throughout his years as owner and founder. It is inspiring that a business born from personal passion has carried the team to the highest level of the sport.

“Eero Raikkonen will continue as CEO of the company, a role he has held for the past 28 years. Our story will continue.”

Printsport Racing is set to field a GR Yaris Rally2 for the full 2026 WRC season, to be driven by Toyota WRC Challenge Program driver Yuki Yamamoto.
