The figure of Vinicius Jr. continues to divide opinion both inside and outside Real Madrid.

His influence on matches is unquestionable, but his behaviour, personality, and growing prominence ensure that he never leaves anyone indifferent.

Those who have lived the club from the inside often have the strongest views, and that is exactly the case with Poli Rincon, who recently shared a blunt assessment of the current situation at the Bernabéu.

Speaking in an interview with El Periodico (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Rincon reflected on how the internal hierarchy at Real Madrid has evolved over the years.

The former Madrid forward set the context by recalling an era when leadership was non-negotiable, and the club’s authority always came first.

“Before, there were captains who kept order. The club was above everyone else. Di Stefano, Cristiano, and Raul have left, and Madrid has continued.

“With Vinicius, the sense of order has been lost,” he said.

Warning Real Madrid

The former Madrid player did not stop there. He also turned his attention to the current sporting project under Xabi Alonso, delivering a warning about its fragility.

Rincon explained how power dynamics work at Real Madrid, where decisions often flow from the very top.

“The project is mortally wounded if there is no support from above. In this Madrid, power is concentrated in the president. If the players smell blood, the coach has no chance,” he stated.

Finally, Rincon addressed the leadership role within the current squad, pointing towards Kylian Mbappe.

While acknowledging the Frenchman’s extraordinary talent, he questioned whether Mbappe has yet developed the presence required to dominate a dressing room like Real Madrid’s.

“He’s stratospheric, but he doesn’t yet have the charisma to command a dressing room like that,” he admitted.
