Former Badgers WR earns First Team All American honors

One former Badgers wide receiver has broken out as a star.

The Wisconsin Badgers have seen a ton of turnover over the years as they’ve reshaped the roster under head coach Luke Fickell.

While the quarterback position has seen an upheaval, the Badgers have also completely transformed their wide receiver room, with many of the team’s initial group transferring out.

Among those players was former wide receiver Skyler Bell, who committed to Wisconsin under the previous coaching staff and stayed around for the 2023 season as the No. 2 slot receiver behind Will Pauling, who transferred in from Cincinnati.

After seeing his production drop from 2022 to 2023, Bell transferred to UConn for a bigger role and broke out with 50 catches for 860 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.

That topped what any Wisconsin receiver had that season, with Vinny Anthony leading the Badgers with 39 catches for 672 yards and four scores.

Well, Bell had an even bigger season in 2025, catching 101 passes for 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns as one of the best receivers in the country. He ranked second in the FBS in all three categories and earned All-American First-Team honors, becoming the first UConn player to ever be a consensus first-teamer.

Now, he’s in a great position to be selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, potentially going on Day 2.
