Burkina Faso is competing in the final phase of the Africa Cup of Nations for the fourteenth time in its history, at the 35th edition of the tournament, held in Morocco from December 21 to January 18.
Nicknamed the "Stallions," the Burkinabè squad continues to prove their consistency on the African stage, with 13 previous appearances since their debut in 1978, firmly establishing themselves as one of the continent’s competitive national teams.
Burkina Faso’s best result remains their memorable run to the AFCON 2013 final, a historic achievement for the team. The Stallions also made their mark in the tournaments of 2012, 2015, 2017, 2021, and 2023.
This Wednesday, Burkina Faso faces Equatorial Guinea, known as "Nzalang Nacional," at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca. Kick-off is set for 12:30 p.m. (GMT), marking the opening matchday for Group E at AFCON 2025.
