Konstantinos Karetsas has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in Europe, following his eye-catching displays at KRC Genk.

Just 18 years old, the attacking midfielder has already made 70 first-team appearances for the Belgian outfit, even registering five goals and 15 assists.

Capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder or as a right-winger, Karetsas is courting strong interest from several top clubs.

Real Madrid among Karetsas’ admirers

Indeed, according to reports relayed by AS, Real Madrid are one of the clubs interested in Karetsas, but face some serious competition from other European heavyweights.

Premier League heavy-spenders Chelsea are also keen on the 18-year-old Greek wonderkid, while reigning French and European champions PSG are also in the race.

Moreover, other top teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the youngster and have made enquiries about his situation.

Karetsas is contracted with Genk until the summer of 2029, which he signed last month, and is understood to have a release clause of around €30-40 million.

Real Madrid like the 18-year-old wonderkid, but quite how they will incorporate the youngster into the squad will be a question.

After all, the Merengues already have players like Franco Mastantuono, Arda Guler, and Brahim Diaz who compete in similar positions. And plans are underway for Nico Paz to return to the club from Como in the summer as well.

So, despite the interest in Karetsas, it is unlikely that Real Madrid will act on it in the upcoming summer.
