The Saudi club Al-Ittihad has initiated negotiations with AC Milan with the aim of securing the services of Algerian international midfielder Ismaël Bennacer during the summer transfer window.

According to renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad officials have made initial contact with their Milanese counterparts to explore the feasibility of a transfer for Bennacer, who has been identified as a top priority to strengthen the “Tigers’” midfield.On his official (X) account, Romano specified:
“Al-Ittihad has opened talks with AC Milan for Ismaël Bennacer, considered a midfield option.”
He added that Brazilian midfielder Wendel, from Zenit Saint Petersburg, is also on the shortlist of targets for the Saudi club, which is eager to bolster its squad.To recap, Bennacer no longer appears to be part of new Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, after being loaned out to Olympique de Marseille for the second half of last season.Despite Marseille’s desire to keep him, the deal fell through due to Milan’s high financial demands and the player’s wage expectations.
