BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Bowen Byram had two goals and an assist capped by the winner 31 seconds into overtime as the Sabres claimed their seventh consecutive victory beating the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on the road Tuesday night.
Buffalo’s win streak is its longest since a 10-game run in November 2018, and the longest active streak in the NHL. The winning run, which has included five road victories, has brought the Sabres within two points of a wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Noah Ostlund also scored and Alex Lyon made 24 saves for his sixth victory during this streak.
Byram matched his career-high with three points in scoring his first overtime goal in the NHL.
The seventh-year defenseman gave Buffalo a lead less than five minutes into the first period when he redirected a shot by Jordan Greenway. After tallying the primary assist on Ostlund’s goal in the second period, Byram won the game with a one-timer from the right circle set up by Ryan McLeod’s cross-ice pass.
