Cowboys' Micah Parsons hints at departure from Dallas sooner than anyone expected

The door is open.

Micah Parsons has officially opened the door on an outcome nobody thought possible.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Parsons suggested this could be his final season with the Dallas Cowboys.

The comments came amid contract negotiations between Parsons and Dallas as the star pass rusher enters the option year of his rookie deal.

Parsons is expected to get a record-setting amount on his new contract, which could range anywhere from four-to-six years and be in the $45 million per year ballpark.

But the negotiations clearly aren't going well, and Parsons delivered this one-liner to reporters:

"If this is the end, this is the end."

Nobody had said words like that yet in the Parsons process. It seemed like a safe assumption to think that Dallas would do everything in its power to keep around the generational defender.

But now, Parsons has suggested he could be in a different uniform after this season. And that's something no Cowboys fan wants to hear.
