Julian Blackmon is coming to town.

That didn't take the New Orleans Saints very long.

Tyrann Mathieu announced his retirement on Tuesday afternoon. By Tuesday evening, the Saints were signing his replacement.

Multiple reports indicated that safety Julian Blackmon is coming to New Orleans.

Blackmon was a five-year starter with the Colts who made a lot of plays, but he's also been hurt a lot lately.

In 2021, Blackmon tore his Achilles.

Then in 2023 and 2024, he dealt with shoulder injuries.

All told, Blackmon played in 66 career games with Indy, recording 300 tackles, 10 interceptions and 21 passes defensed.

Blackmon was replaced this offseason when the Colts signed Camryn Bynum.

The Colts cut him in March, and he's been available until now.

The 2020 third-round pick is still just 26 years old. If Blackmon can stay healthy, this can work out to be a great pickup for the Saints.
