J.J. Craig, who transferred to Lawrence Central after sophomore year at Warren Central, is back at Warren Central; will be eligible after 30 days

J.J. Craig, a talented junior guard, has transferred back to Warren Central after playing the first four games of the season at Lawrence Central.

Craig, a 6-3 wing, transferred from Warren Central to Lawrence Central after a sophomore year that saw him earn a spot in the Futures Game from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the Top 100 Underclass Showcase. He averaged 5.1 points and shot 38% from the 3-point line as a sophomore for Warren Central.

Indiana South’s J.J. Craig (10) drives past Indiana North’s Trell Hogue (5), Monday, June 2, 2025, during the IBCA Futures game for freshman and sophomore boys in Fishers, Indiana.

Under the new first-time transfer rule, Craig is able to gain full eligibility by returning to the school he originally transferred from. He will be required to sit out 30 days because he transferred after the start of the season. Warren Central confirmed he is again enrolled at the school.

Craig, rated as the No. 13 in-state prospect in the 2027 class by IndyStar, averaged 3.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in four games at Lawrence Central, which is off to a 1-3 start. Warren Central is also 1-3 going into its game at Anderson on Saturday night.
