Barcelona president Joan Laporta continued his attack towards Real Madrid, this time during Barça’s Christmas dinner.
“They practice cynicism and excessive arrogance; they have a TV mess from which they spew lies and constantly and permanently poison. I have to say that this level we have reached also generates envy, and that is very poorly managed by those who, using underhanded tactics, break all codes of conduct, ethical and moral, and not just sports-related. I suppose you know who I am referring to: those who are the architects of permanent smear campaigns against our badge and our values. And we are not going to allow this. They are the same ones who confuse power with despotism,” he said.
Laporta has been attacking Real Madrid during the Negreira trial, which contrasts sharply with the past few years when Los Blancos and Barça appeared to be on amicable terms while trying to create the Super League.
