Did Edna Karr (La.) head football coach Brice Brown just settle the argument to being the “Coach of the last Decade” when it comes to the national high school football scene?

If there’s one college football coach that agrees with that assertion it’s new LSU boss Lane Kiffin, who re-quoted on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the goat emoji to a post that details Brown’s success since taking over the Cougars’ job back in 2015.

Literally, all Brown does is win and he’s done it in convincing fashion on an annual basis for the nation’s No. 5 ranked team. Over the last decade, Brown has led Edna Karr to the state championship game eight times, coming away with the title in hand six of those times. The Cougars have crushed district competition, owning a 48-2 mark with five undefeated seasons.

The Cougars capped their 2025 season by beating a St. Augustine squad that they faced back on Oct. 3, with Edna Karr dominating the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Prep Classic’s Division I Select championship game, 49-14.

The earlier meeting in the season between the Cougars and Purple Knights was a 42-21 decison, but the gap ended up being that much more between the two squads. The game was a spectacle in the Big Easy as a reported 34,500 fans turned out to the Caesar’s Superdome for the Battle for New Orleans.
