FloridaTE Hayden Hansen plans to enter his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes per the latest reporting on Thursday morning by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

“BREAKING: Florida starting TE Hayden Hansen is entering the @TransferPortal, he tells @On3Sports,” Fawcett posted this morning.

Hansen had spent all four years of his career, being a redshirt junior to this point, in Gainesville. He would go on to make 37 appearances, 34 of those being starts, as he’s been the full-time starter at the position the last two seasons, the past three years for the Gators.

During that collegiate career, Hansen has posted 57 receptions for 611 yards, averaging 16.5 per game, and five touchdowns for Florida. 30 of those catches for 254 yards, averaging 21.2 per game, and two of those scores came this past fall in what was a career-best campaign for him, finishing as the third-leading pass catcher on the offense this season, in The Swamp.

Hansen, a native of Weatherford, Texas, rated as a three-star prospect back in the 2022 recruiting cycle. He also ranked just outside the Top-100 among tight ends, and just inside the Top-250 among players in the state of Texas. That’s according to Rivals’ Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Now, with this, Hansen is the latest expected entry into the NCAA Transfer Portal from the roster at Florida. They’ve come amidst the coaching change from Billy Napier, who they fired back in mid-October, to their new hire of Jon Sumrall. Now, since the end of their season, several names, with more that could be coming still, have since shared their intentions to answer, including some very notable ones from this past year’s team for the Gators. That’ll be just the start of their transactions, as Florida will then have to go to the portal to build what’ll then be the debut roster under Sumrall.

After redshirting as a true freshman, Hansen has one season of eligibility remaining. He’ll just be spending it elsewhere now, though, with his plan being to also have his name in the portal once it opens come January 2nd.
