When it comes to the never-ending LeBron vs. Jordan debate, every ring counts or does it? LeBron James sits just two titles behind Michael Jordan’s six, but not everyone’s ready to give him full credit.

In fact, one of Jordan’s former teammates just threw some serious shade at LeBron’s 2020 championship, the one won inside the NBA Bubble during the height of the pandemic. According to him, that title doesn’t carry the same weight and he didn’t hold back, even calling it “trash.” Looks like this rivalry isn’t just between the players anymore.

The man in question here is Ron Harper, who played for the Bulls from 1994-1999 and in the process won three rings with Jordan himself.

Harper replied to an X post discussing the 2020 championship won by James and the Lakers and the legitimacy of it. He did not mince words in sharing his true feelings about the same saying, “The bubble ring is just that! A bubble ring… trash.”

Being a Laker comes with a certain weight; titles aren’t just goals, they’re expectations. That’s why names like Magic, Kobe, Kareem and Shaq are legends. They brought championships to L.A. Harper happened to play on two NBA title teams for the Lakers, help Kobe and Shaq earn the 2000 and 2001 championships.

LeBron James won in L.A. too, leading the Lakers to a title in the 2020 NBA Finals.

Sure, the 2020 playoffs happened in a fanless bubble, but James dominated. He averaged nearly 28 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists across 21 games and closed out the finals with a 28-point triple-double to clinch the trophy.

MVP-worthy stuff. Whether you count it or not, the banner’s hanging, and the Larry O’Brien Trophy is in the Lakers' case.
