The Georgia Bulldogs have scheduled a pair of future nonconference games against the North Carolina Tar Heels
The Georgia Bulldogs and North Carolina Tar Heels will play each other in a future men's basketball series. Georgia will play at North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 13 in 2026 and then the Tar Heel will return to play Georgia in Nov. or Dec. 2028.
The Bulldogs' basketball program has looked considerably better under head coach Mike White, who led Georgia to the NCAA Tournament last season. This year, Georgia has and elite offense. The Bulldogs have just one loss and are ranked as the No. 25 team in the AP Poll.
North Carolina leads the all-time series 13-5 against Georgia. The two teams have not met during the 21st century, but during the 1982-1983 season, Georgia basketball notably defeated Michael Jordan and UNC in the NCAA Tournament to advance to Georgia's only Final Four appearance in school history.
Playing North Carolina represents a significant leap in Georgia basketball's nonconfernce scheduling. In recent years, Georgia has rarely played road games in nonconference play.
UNC is historically one of the best basketball programs in the country. The Tar Heels have the No. 13 team in the country right now and should be a significant nonconference test for Georgia.
