ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – At six feet five and 306 pounds, Roger Carreon is not hard to miss. The former Jal Panthers football star has always stood out and is doing the same for the Boise State Broncos football team.

“Roger Carreon is one of the best players on our entire team and I think, going to be one of the best offensive linemen we had here,” said Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson. Big number 62 is entering his red-shirt junior year.

Last season at right guard, Carreon helped to open holes for the highest selected running back in this year’s NFL Draft, Ashton Jeanty. Carreon started six games without allowing a sack.

Teammates as well as coaches have noticed the intensity he brings to the game. “His mentality is that he is going to be the most brutal guy on the field at all times, I feel like,” said Broncos offensive lineman Kage Casey.

Coach Danielson agrees.

“Roger has the physical capabilities, the athleticism, the fundamentals, but he brings mentality to everything he does,” said Danielson. “He’s that guy that wants to punish you.”

Danielson has grown close to Carreon over the years and believes the best is yet to come. “I love him dearly,” said Danielson. “He’s like a son to me, and his best football is in front of him. I really do believe he’s a next-level NFL player too, if he continues to stay on this trajectory.”
