Lancaster Post 11 Juniors won the Ohio American Legion state tournament with a 12-2 win over Bettsville on Sunday to repeat as state champions.
LANCASTER — For the second consecutive year, the Lancaster Post 11 Juniors won the Ohio American Legion Junior state championship on Sunday, July 20, at Beavers Field.
Post 11 won the state title a year ago for the first time, and this season, it cruised to a 12-2 win in the state championship game by defeating Bettsville Post 733.
Post 11 began the double-elimination tournament with a hard-fought 1-0 win over St. Clairsville. It followed that up with a 9-1 victory over Carey Post 344 and defeated Bettsville 8-5 to earn a spot in the championship game.
The Post 11 American Legion Senior Tournament starts July 25 at Beavers Field.
