The Green Bay Packers have finalized their roster, just like every other team around the league. However, the Packers are still looking to add significant pieces to their defensive line—and they very well could, if they manage to pry Micah Parsons away from the Dallas Cowboys.
“Ian Rapoport on Micah Parsons to the Packers rumors. ‘That’s the kind of team that I would say, if Micah was going to be traded, that he’d be going to,’” Berkovits posted.
The Cowboys and Parsons have been locked in an ongoing dispute since team owner Jerry Jones attempted to extend Parsons’ contract without involving his agent. This move reportedly frustrated Parsons, despite Jones publicly stating he offered the most lucrative defensive contract in NFL history.
“I've agreed to give more money than has ever been given in terms of guaranteed money than anyone ever has as far as a defensive player,” Jones said. “I've done that. Now, I am the cat that writes the check. Now Micah's got three years with the Cowboys left. He's got three years. At some point somebody has to have the say over the other. At some point it has to be that way.”
Following Jones’ offer, Parsons reportedly requested a trade from the Cowboys. Whether or not the team will grant his request remains unclear, but Packers reporter Andy Herman senses momentum building for a possible move to Green Bay.
“I infamously put Jaire at 0.01%. FWIW - I’m putting Parsons at like 5%. Trust me when I say I’m as skeptical as anyone. But there does seem to be some sort of buzz,” Herman wrote.

If the Packers manage to land Parsons, it would completely transform their defensive front. While questions still surround Green Bay’s defensive line, those concerns would likely vanish with the addition of a player like Parsons. This situation is still developing, but as it stands, Green Bay appears to be the leading contender.
