The NFL’s 53-man roster cut deadline is less than 24 hours away, with the deadline being Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. E.T.

While teams will be parting ways with players in droves due to lack of space in their plans for the 2025 seasons, those same players could be of interest to other franchises around the league as they look to improve some of their weaker roster spots.

Players with less than four accrued NFL seasons who are waived are subject to the waiver wire and can be claimed by any team.

Among the teams who are likely to utilize the waiver wire are the Indianapolis Colts. General manager Chris Ballard tends to find some useful additions here, with some notable pick ups from 2024 being cornerback Sam Womack III, who started eight games for the Colts, and defensive end Isaiah Land, who contributed as a depth piece last season and is on the bubble this year after a strong training camp.

But Ballard may not have as much success this season. At the very least, he’ll have to be patient. The Colts hold the 14th spot in the waiver order, an order decided by the original draft order from 2025.

For Ballard right now, it’s just a matter of monitoring transactions around the league and taking prompt action.
