NFL roster cuts tracker: Eagles news, updates, trades, more

The NFL roster deadline is quickly approaching, and the Eagles have a lot decisions to make.

Now that the final preseason game is behind them, the Philadelphia Eagles will need to make some tough decisions on the way to finalizing their 53-man roster ahead of the league deadline on Tuesday, August 26 at 4:00 PM ET.

While the starters on both offense and defense are largely in place, there were a few spots with players vying to take on a bigger role, specifically at cornerback and safety. Plus, after WR Johnny Wilson was lost for the season due to injury, the team also needed to find their next big-bodied blocking receiver to fill his spot.

The Eagles will host the Cowboys in their Week 1 season opener on Thursday, September 4, so they won’t have a lot of time to settle in with their final roster and get to work.
