The Tampa Bay Rays have a young star who continues to shine in the Florida sun. Jose Caminero became the seventh fastest player to hit 37 or more home runs in a season on Sunday.
Caminero did his feat at the age of 22 years and 85 days, which is just four behind Cody Bellinger, who did his in 2017.

The names on the list ahead of him are a who's who in Major League Baseball, with Mel Ott, Frank Robinson, and Albert Pujols. Robert Acuna Jr., Eddie Matthews, and Bellinger are topping the list.
It now looks possible, Caminero could hit the most home runs of any of these players. He would need 10 over the final six weeks of the season to tie Ott, and 11 to beat him.

The home run was a grand slam, and it came in the bottom of the fifth to put the Rays up 5-0 on the St. Louis Cardinals. Tampa went on to win the game 7-2 and win the series. The Rays are now 63-67 on the season, while St. Louis has fallen to 64-67.
Christopher Morel got the offense going for Tampa in the fourth inning with a solo blast. Chandler Simpson tripled in a run in the bottom of the sixth, and starter Ryan Pepiot did the rest. He went five innings, allowing just one Cardinal hit.
Caminero on the season is now hitting .255, with those 37 home runs, 91 runs batted in, and he has scored 75 runs for the Rays. The 22-year-old has played in 124 games and is 74 at-bats away from 600 on the season.
The next time fans can see the slugger is Monday night, as the Rays start a road trip, with three in Cleveland before three in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.
