South Carolina alums finished their stints in the 2025 NFL Preseason as cut day approaches on Tuesday. Here is a recap of how they performed.
NFL preseason action for former South Carolina Gamecocks came to a close Saturday night. As cut day approaches on Aug. 26, many players hope they have made their best showing in the preseason.
Here is a look at how former Gamecocks closed their preseason action.

AFC West
Kyle Kennard – EDGE/outside linebacker, Los Angeles Chargers
Kennard picked up two tackles in his preseason finale against San Francisco. He closes the preseason with three tackles, only one of those being a solo tackle.
Raheim Sanders – Running back, Los Angeles Chargers
Sanders led the Chargers with 48 rushing yards in the loss to San Francisco. The rookie finishes the preseason with 101 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Additionally, he caught five passes for 29 yards.
Dalevon Campbell – Wide receiver, Los Angeles Chargers
Campbell racked up the most receiving yards in the Chargers’ preseason finale, catching four passes for 17 yards. He finishes the preseason with eight receptions for 147 yards.
Adam Prentice – Fullback, Denver Broncos
Prentice joined the Broncos before the final week of preseason action. Playing against his former team, the New Orleans Saints, he picked up one carry for two yards.
Tonka Hemingway – Defensive tackle, Las Vegas Raiders
Hemingway picked up his first and only tackle of the preseason against the Cardinals. The rookie also had three QB hits in the loss.
AFC East
TJ Sanders – Defensive tackle, Buffalo Bills
Sanders faced double teams during Saturday’s victory over the Buccaneers, which led to him failing to record a tackle. He finishes the preseason with two solo tackles.
Alex Huntley – Defensive end, Miami Dolphins
Huntley picked up his only two tackles of the preseason against the Jaguars.
Cam Smith – Cornerback, Miami Dolphins
Smith recorded one tackle in the victory over the Jaguars. He closes the preseason with two tackles.
AFC North
Gage Larvadain – Wide receiver, Cleveland Browns
Larvadain finished a strong preseason with four receptions for 28 yards and a touchdown against the Rams. He finishes the preseason with nine receptions for 94 yards alongside two carries for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Darius Rush – Cornerback, Cleveland Browns
Rush picked up two tackles in his preseason finale against the Rams. He closes the preseason with four tackles, two solo.
Demetrius Knight II – Linebacker, Cincinnati Bengals
Knight missed the end of the preseason with a “lower extremity” injury. He is expected to be able to play come Week 1.
NFC South
Jovaughn Gwyn – Center, Atlanta Falcons
Gwyn again ranked highly among Falcons offensive players per PFF, grading out at 68.1.
Joshua Simon – Tight end, Atlanta Falcons
Simon was listed as a reserve tight end during the Falcons’ preseason finale against the Cowboys.
Jaycee Horn – Cornerback, Carolina Panthers
Horn remained inactive in the Panthers’ preseason loss to the Steelers due to a thumb injury.
Xavier Legette – Wide receiver, Carolina Panthers
Legette was one of 33 players not playing for the Panthers on Thursday. The former South Carolina wideout finishes the preseason without a reception.
DJ Wonnum – Outside linebacker, Carolina Panthers
Wonnum was also inactive for the Panthers, who chose to bench their starters and key reserve players. Wonnum finishes the 2025 preseason with three assisted tackles.
Rico Dowdle – Running back, Carolina Panthers
Rico Dowdle was inactive for the Panthers’ preseason finale. Dowdle finishes the preseason with only five carries for nine yards. The Panthers’ newcomer also caught two passes for 35 yards.
Bam Martin-Scott – Inside linebacker, Carolina Panthers
Martin-Scott tied for a team-high five tackles in the Panthers’ preseason finale against the Steelers. He finishes the preseason with 12 tackles, seven solo.
Spencer Rattler – Quarterback, New Orleans Saints
Rattler saw limited action in the Saints’ preseason finale. The second-year quarterback only threw eight passes, completing five for 43 yards. Rattler closes the preseason, completing 30 passes for 295 yards, including a touchdown and an interception.
Torricelli Simpkins III – Guard/Center, New Orleans Saints
Simpkins has emerged as an under-the-radar candidate to make the Saints roster after a strong preseason.
NFC North
Keisean Nixon – Cornerback, Green Bay Packers
Nixon made his only tackle of the preseason against the Seahawks on Saturday night.
Kingsley Enagbare – Defensive end, Green Bay Packers
Enagbare recovered a fumble while also making two tackles against the Seahawks. The former South Carolina Gamecock finishes the preseason with eight tackles.
Zacch Pickens – Defensive tackle, Chicago Bears
Pickens recovered a fumble during the Bears’ preseason finale against Kansas City. He also made two tackles in the victory.
Vershon Lee – Guard/Center, Minnesota Vikings
Lee continued to see reps at center for the Vikings in their final preseason game.
NFC East
Israel Mukuamu – Safety, Dallas Cowboys
Mukuamu recorded two tackles in the victory over the Falcons to close Dallas’s preseason, finishing the preseason with six tackles and an interception.
Jalen Brooks – Wide receiver, Dallas Cowboys
Brooks caught two passes for 35 yards and a touchdown. He closes the preseason with five catches for 72 yards.
O’Donnell Fortune – Cornerback, New York Giants
Fortune was cut from the Giants’ roster on Aug. 22. He had six tackles and three pass deflections in the 2025 preseason.
Dante Miller, Running back, New York Giants
Miller picked up 11 carries for 41 yards to close a solid preseason with the Giants. He closes the 2025 preseason with 26 carries for 80 yards.
Nick Muse – Tight end, Philadelphia Eagles
Muse finished the preseason with two receptions for 13 yards.
Deebo Samuel – Wide receiver, Washington Commanders
Samuel made one play for 19 yards during the 2025 preseason. He saw limited action as the Commanders prepare for 2025.
Javon Kinlaw – Defensive tackle, Washington Commanders
Kinlaw racked up two tackles in his final preseason game against the Ravens, his only two of the preseason
NFC West
Nick Emmanwori – Safety, Seattle Seahawks
Emmanwori made his only two tackles of the preseason against the Packers on Saturday.
Ernest Jones IV – Inside linebacker, Seattle Seahawks
Ernest Jones made all four of his tackles of the preseason in the loss to the Packers on Saturday.
