Well, this was a weird one.

Jacy Jayne has been both NXT women’s champion and TNA Knockouts champion because she has had Fatal Influence there to ensure she doesn’t lose whatever match she may be involved in. When she was booked in a triple threat match for the latter title at tonight’s (Sun., Aug. 24, 2025) Heatwave premium live event in Lowell, Massachusetts, it sure looked like her reign would continue.

Nope!

Inexplicably enough, the referee decided to throw Fatal Influence out of the match because they got involved in it right in front of his face:

This makes no sense at all because it’s a triple threat and therefore there are no disqualifications. Why would it matter if they interfered?

Even better, this was the finish they booked:

Jayne was about to win and then was yanked out by the Elegance Brand, giving Ash the chance to score the pinfall and the victory to become the new TNA Knockouts champion. The referee watched it happen.

This was incredibly dumb, and bad, and we should all feel bad for having watched it.
