New York announced their waiving of Davis in a release on Sunday. They did so amongst a list of seven total players that they removed from the team ahead of the regular season to get down to a 53-man roster by Tuesday this week.
“The Jets have released veteran LB Jamin Davis and waived six players: QB Adrian Martinez, DE Michael Fletcher, T Liam Forandel, TE Zach Kuntz, DB Tanner McCalister and RB Lawrance Toafili,” wrote Eric Allen this afternoon.

Jets waive QB Adrian Martinez
The New York Jets have waived QB Adrian Martinez, according to a report. He was among six players released by the team Sunday in preparation for the 53-man roster deadline.
Martinez was a member of the Jets’ practice squad this past season. He could potentially rejoin the practice squad for this season once he clears waivers if the teams wants him back.
