More drama in Dallas for their superstar.
Cowboys' Micah Parsons lies down amid contract issues, but snaps back at negative comments originally appeared on The Sporting News
Micah Parsons went viral on Friday night, but not for finally getting a new contract signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
Instead, he was lying down on the training table during the Cowboys' preseason finale.
Parsons didn't wear his jersey Friday night, either, making a subtle statement in that way.
But it was the clip of him taking a moment to lay back while his teammates were playing that earned him a lot of criticism.
Local television reporter Mike Leslie wrote this on X to push back against some of the hate:
"In the interest of clarity (and fairness) - Micah Parsons was not laying on the training table all night. In fact, that was only a relatively short portion of the evening."

Parsons saw that post and quoted it with his own thoughts on X:
"I actually appreciate this (praying hands emoji). The way media shapes perception and narratives is wild—and if he hadn’t said anything, everyone would’ve just run with it. I’d never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives."
It's still not a brilliant look. Parsons surely knows that all eyes are on him.

And it's just the latest quirk in a long saga in which Parsons and the Cowboys simply can't come to an extension agreement entering his final season of his current deal. Parsons has made a trade request, too.
Someone is going to pay him the biggest contract ever given to a non-quarterback. Will it be Jerry Jones and Dallas? That seems less certain at the moment.
Jones has a habit of leaving these big contracts to the last minute, and it's getting close now. The Cowboys open the season in the first game, Thursday Sept. 4 against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles.
Parsons is running out of time to be out there.
