One team's trash is another team's treasure.

That's how the NFL often views things as cutdown day approaches next Tuesday.

The New York Jets could certainly find themselves in that boat if they play their cards right, and with a division rival no less.

The New England Patriots have too many receivers, and Kendrick Bourne might be on the outside looking in.

Bleacher Report's Alex Kay suggests the Jets should trade a seventh-round pick to get Bourne.

"New York locked down homegrown wideout Garrett Wilson on a long-term extension this offseason but must find at least one more talented receiver who can make life easier for new quarterback Justin Fields," Kay writes. "Trading for a pass-catcher appears to be in Gang Green's plans, as The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported they are monitoring the market for veteran wide receivers. Kendrick Bourne may not be the most exciting pickup for the squad, but he's a reliable veteran who could be an asset in the Big Apple. With New England dealing with one of the league's most crowded receiving corps, it shouldn't cost more than a late-Day 3 pick to acquire the 30-year-old."

Bourne might be best known for his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

He's never been a star, but on multiple different occasions he's proven he can contribute to a solid NFL offense.

The Jets don't need a WR1, but it wouldn't hurt to have depth. Bourne can provide it, and it'd give him a bit of chance at revenge against his former Pats team, too.
