Boston is in the record books...
Aliyah Boston Passes Caitlin Clark to Make Indiana Fever History originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever, still without Caitlin Clark (groin), trailed by as much as 21 points against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday night. But, thanks to a 38-point, six-assist outing from WNBA All-Star Kelsey Mitchell, the Fever were able to squeak by the Sun, Stephanie White's former team, in overtime by a final score of 99-93.
While Mitchell led the way for Indiana, Boston was a star as well, entering her name into the franchise's record books.
Aliyah Boston Makes Fever History
In 36 minutes of action against Connecticut, Boston stuffed the stat sheet, tallying 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. This also marked the former South Carolina forward's 15th double-double of the season.
In doing so, Boston now stands alone, holding the Fever record for most double-doubles in a single season. Clark initially held the record after securing 14 double-doubles during her rookie year in 2024.
Boston also tallied 13 double-doubles last season, tying her for third on the franchise list with former forward NaLyssa Smith (2023), now with the Las Vegas Aces.
With only nine games left, Clark, who has five double-doubles this season, won’t be able to break the record until at least next year.
"AB, the double-double machine 💪," the Indiana Fever wrote on X. "congrats to Aliyah Boston on becoming the new franchise leader for most double-doubles in a single season with 15 & counting!"

Boston's Improvement in WNBA
While Clark has become the clear-cut cornerstone for the young Indiana squad, Boston has made a name for herself as well. The No. 1 overall pick in 2023 started her WNBA career off strong, making the All-Star team with averages of 14.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
In 2024, when Clark joined the squad, Boston saw her scoring take a slight dip to 14.0 points per game, but her rebounds and assists improved to 8.9 and 3.2, respectively.
This year, Boston is having arguably her best season yet. Earning her third All-Star appearance and first start, she is averaging career-highs of 15.2 points and 3.6 assists, while grabbing 8.3 boards per contest.
Up next for Boston and the Fever is a two-game set against the Minnesota Lynx, starting Friday in Indiana and concluding Sunday in Minneapolis.
