Caitlin Clark reveals her MVP pick.
Caitlin Clark Makes Choice for WNBA MVP Clear After Indiana Fever's OT Win originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever ended a two-game losing skid on Sunday as they were able to fend off the Connecticut Sun in overtime.
Although the Sun came into Sunday's meeting at Mohegan Sun Arena with the worst record in the WNBA, they gave the injury-plagued Fever a run for their money in the 99-93 loss. The Fever ended up losing Sophie Cunningham after 10 minutes of action with what appeared to be a right leg injury.
In addition to losing Cunningham, the Fever were also without two-time WNBA All-Star and 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark for the 13th straight game. With Cunningham and Clark out, it was three-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell who led the charge, en route to completing the 21-point comeback.
Following Mitchell's performance, which saw her shoot 11-of-22 from the field and 5-of-8 from three to tie a career-high 38 points, Clark took to X to endorse Mitchell as the WNBA MVP.
"MVP kels," wrote Clark.
Clark also made sure to show how proud she was of the team as a whole for battling back.
Battled battled battled. So proud ❤️

Kelsey Mitchell's Standing in the WNBA MVP Race
As of right now, Mitchell isn't necessarily viewed as an MVP candidate by those outside of Indiana, as FanDuel currently only has odds available for Napheesa Collier (-380), Alyssa Thomas (+430) and A'ja Wilson (+800).
With that being said, Mitchell has played a pivotal role in keeping the Fever in the mix this season, as Clark has only appeared in 13 of the now 35 games. On the year, Mitchell is averaging a team-high 20.4 points, while also dishing out 3.4 assists and grabbing 1.9 rebounds per game.
With the win, the Fever have advanced to 19-16 on the year, and are still squarely in the mix to make the playoffs. They will have a few days off before taking on the Minnesota Lynx (28-5) on Friday.
