The Cleveland Browns are gearing up for their final preseason game of the exhibition slate, taking on the Los Angeles Rams in Cleveland. And while naming Joe Flacco their starting quarterback has dominated headlines, the Browns have now made a trade on the defensive side of the ball.
Cleveland is trading defensive tackle Jowon Briggs to the New York Jets in exchange for a a 2026 sixth-round pick. The Browns are also trading a seventh-round pick to the Jets along with Briggs. The Browns and Jets will face one another in Week 10 of the 2025 season.
Cleveland drafted Briggs in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Virginia. He appeared in six games as a rookie, recording 13 tackles and one fumble recovery.
